Proof: 101 About the product: At 101 proof our Light Whiskey is contrary to what pop culture is making of light drinks; it’s not about calories, it’s all about taste. Light Whiskey is an official spirit designation. We distill it differently than bourbon and other whiskeys, which gives it a unique taste and smooth finish right off the still. What makes Austin 101 unique is that it does not carry some of the heavy flavors of bourbon or overpowering whiskeys. It’s just not what we’re going for.
